Timișoara MUN, briefly
Timișoara International Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations, organised by the Association for Representation and Diplomatic Projects (ARPD). Students each represent a country in a committee, debate in English and negotiate a resolution. The second edition runs 27–29 November 2026, at our host school in Timișoara.

What students actually practise
Public speaking
Every delegate gives an opening speech and intervenes repeatedly across the three days, in front of the whole committee.
Arguing an assigned position
Students argue a country's stance, not their own — a rare and genuinely useful exercise in decentring and research.
Functional English
The entire conference runs in English: debate, informal negotiation and formal drafting.
Structured writing
A position paper beforehand and draft resolutions during, both with clear structure and requirements.

Meals — breakfast, lunch and dinner per the programme — and coffee breaks are included in every package. There are also three scholarships for students for whom the fee is a genuine obstacle.
What is not included
Travel to Timișoara and accommodation are neither provided nor included in any fee. For students from other cities these remain the family's responsibility. Once a place is confirmed, organisers send logistical information and recommendations.
Students under 18
How we handle minors
- The minimum age is 16, reached by the date of the conference. The platform automatically rejects registrations below that.
- For participants under 18, the consent of a parent or guardian is mandatory, given at registration with name and email.
- Parental consent also covers image rights — photographs and video from the conference. It can be withdrawn, and any photograph can be removed on request.
- Identity documents requested for verification are deleted automatically after the conference ends.

Registration
How students enrol
Registration is individual: each student creates an account on the conference platform, completes the application — including a motivation letter of up to 250 words — and picks a committee and country. There is currently no separate group or school enrolment flow; if you have a larger group and need coordination, write to us and we'll work something out.
Every application is reviewed by the organising team. Those selected receive confirmation by email, along with the agenda and preparation materials — procedure guide, committee description and research recommendations.
